She participated in choruses, took part in singing competitions and performed in both high school and local theatre. Her move from Los Angeles in order to learn at The University of Southern California and then performed as Belle the princess for two and a half seasons at Disneyland. She quit college to find an agent for talent who would let her audition for film and TV. Butler guest starred in the TV series CSI: Miami. Butler was featured in the year-long web-based series Luke 11:17, produced by Don Stark. She also had a recurring role on the web series I love Vampires.Butler won the lead in the 2010 rape and revenge thriller I Spit on Your Grave which was a remake of 1978's cult film of the same name. Though initially turned off by the nudity of the film and the violence, its distinctive female edge and character development convinced her to take on the part. Butler starred in Jennifer Hills as a novelist who is brutally sexually assaulted in a hotel room while traveling. Steven R. Monroe, the director of the film announced it on the 8th October 2010. Butler started shooting The Stranger Within, a psychological thriller that starred Estella Warr, and William Baldwin on Mallorca in Spain, in November 2011. Butler joined the film's cast in Los Angeles of Treachery, which starred Michael Biehn. Filming began in Los Angeles on June 12 2012. Butler was co-starring with Michael Welch in 2013's horror film The Demented.
